Harness the full power of your Anesthesia EMR analytics

If you want an anesthesia EMR that clinicians will love, the magic ingredient is an easy-to-use workflow.

But nearly as important as that is the ability to report on every data element captured at the point of care.

Every anesthesia team has individual documentation needs. There is no one-size fits all approach to capturing and reporting quality measures.

Consider a current example during the COVID-19 pandemic. When OR’s are not running at full capacity, utilization reports that identify individual anesthesia staff across the facility and utilization of the OR allow for more efficient and cost-effective staffing management.

When all your data is stored in the cloud, it is simple to pull analytics to optimize your business. As a result, anesthesia management is able to run reports and share the results with OR leadership and hospital administration. This kind of custom reporting is great, but what about requirements around MIPS/MACRA reporting?

Each client can choose to capture any MIPS measure they want by simply creating a data element on an intraoperative form. These measures can be easily changed to reflect new CMS quality performance measures.  AneScan generates a custom report that includes all measures captured. Additionally, it is critical that practices are able to report directly to a registry. A custom export can be prepared and delivered on designated intervals.

Any discrete data element can be a part of a report.

The key advantage is: how and where data is captured is fully customizable.

In regards to performance reporting, there are recommended efficiency metrics such as case volume, on time starts, reasons for case delay, anesthesia ready time, turnover times, etc. which must be accounted for. All handoffs are also fully documented.

Quality and compliance metrics such as pain scores in the recovery room, perioperative antibiotic administration, normothermia, prevention of central line infections, beta blocker administration, PONV, time out compliance, and preop assessment rates are all available to capture by default.

Additional ad hoc reports can be filtered by facility and date range. Standard reports available include cases by type, class, facility, provider, location and surgical service. Additional billing based reports are available such as billed cases, unbilled cases and billing detail. Custom reports can also be added for delivery and download. SQL data can be shared for processing with tools such as Microsoft BI.

When any discrete data element captured on a form can be a part of a report, anesthesia practices are in complete control of their data. You can use the data to optimize clinical decisions for your practice. You can streamline the admin work and focus more on what matters - patient care. The ability to access it is in your hands so that you can best accomplish the needs of your organization.
